When reading an informational text, students must look at the claims with a critical eye and analyze the evidence the author provides to support the claims.

The goal of this resource is to help students identify an author’s point or claim and think critically to analyze the reasons and evidence used to support the point or claim. As students progress through this resource, the text and questions increase in complexity. This resource will help your students do the following:
