ELEMENTARY TEACHER, CURRICULUM WRITER, MOM OF THREE, FOUNDER OF IN THE CLASSROOM WITH KRISTINE NANNINI
Where Did I Start?
When I started teaching upper elementary over fifteen years ago, I found myself in a classroom with very few materials. It was difficult, and I had to figure out a lot on my own as a new teacher. I had no choice but to create things that my students needed. It was hard work, but with my elementary and special education background, I found that I really enjoyed the process of creating differentiated materials to meet the needs of all my students. I began my website over ten years ago to help teachers who were in a similar situation. After I taught a lesson in my classroom, I would post it on my website to share. Almost immediately, I was receiving feedback from teachers who began implementing my lessons and ideas. Like me, they were seeing more engagement, feeling more confident, and were reaching all their students in ways they hadn’t before. The shared successes were empowering. Since then, creating resources and connecting with teachers through my website has become a passion.
