Finding text evidence is a skill often introduced to entering third graders. Once students can answer the who, what, when, why, and how, we want them to cite evidence to support inferences and quote accurately from a text to PROVE their answers! Finding text evidence and then correctly citing that evidence is a huge cognitive leap for students. These Citing Text Evidence Nonfiction Reading Comprehension Passages will lay the foundation for higher-level reading comprehension.
