I created this differentiated real-world project to do at the end of the year with your students. Most importantly, your students will also get to practice several important math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, coordinates, unit conversion, and area, as well as some logic and reasoning.

Plan an End of the Year Field Day is a real-world math project that gives students the freedom to design all aspects of a Field Day. Students will complete the to-do list to plan the activities, run the events, and wrap up at the end of Field Day. Each step is a different activity that students must complete. These activities are independent of each other meaning that they don’t need to be completed in steps or together.

• Coordinate graphing

Differentiation:
The activities in this resource are differentiated to three different levels. I’ve leveled the math in each activity so it’s appropriate for a range of learners in your classroom. I’ve indicated the levels with discreet symbols on the bottom left-hand corner of each page.

High: suitable for students in grades 5 – 6
Medium: suitable for students in grades 4 – 5
Low: suitable for students in grades 3 – 4
